HIV Law Project combines legal and social support services in a comprehensive, interdisciplinary service delivery model to meet the increasingly complex needs of people living with HIV/AIDS and their families.  This integrated approach affords HIV Law Project a more holistic understanding of the issues and problems facing our clients and their families, better equipping legal staff to work with clients and their families in overcoming barriers to legal services.

 

HIV Law Project Social Support Services include:

  • Individual and family needs assessments;
  • Service plan development;
  • Crisis intervention and short-term counseling as necessary to facilitate legal services;
  • Consultation  with children and/or proposed guardians, as appropriate;
  • Referral to and coordination of delivery of additional services, as needed;
  • Social service advocacy; and
  • Periodic follow-up to ensure service delivery and on-going stability, as necessary.
